Rest in peace, Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Sergio Romero (EOW June 17, 2026).
Trooper Romero was killed in a crash when a tractor-trailer pulled out in front of him as he was attempting to conduct a motor vehicle stop.
Trooper Romero was 27 years old and had served with the Texas Department of Pub-lic Service–Texas Highway Patrol for nine months. He previously served with the Hall County, Texas, Sheriff’s Office. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
