On Friday, June 19, a bus driver came upon a woman with facial injuries standing along a roadside in Weehawken, New Jersey. The bus driver reported to the PAPD that he stopped to ask if she was all right and learned she had been assaulted by her boyfriend while traveling through the Lincoln Tunnel.
Port Authority Police Officers Juan Vera, Sam Sukool and Joseph Seborowski of the PAPD Lincoln Tunnel Command responded, interviewed the woman and requested EMS. The officers were told the suspect, who was operating the victim’s vehicle, had left her on the roadside and fled.
About an hour later, officers observed a vehicle matching the description provided by the victim and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The driver was positively identified and taken into custody. He was charged with assault in connection with domestic violence.
Outstanding work by Police Officers Vera, Sukool and Seborowski (who was not available for the photo).
