Rest in peace, Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Pahira (EOW July 1, 2026).
Trooper Pahira was conducting a safety inspection of a commercial vehicle when his patrol vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer, causing it to strike the inspection vehicle, pushing it off the road and trapping and killing Trooper Pahira. The tractor-trailer also caught fire.
Trooper Pahira was 44 years old and had served with the Pennsylvania State Police for 19 years and six months. He is survived by his parents and sister.
