Rest in peace, U.S. Deputy Marshal Michael Andrew Hanson (EOW 7/13/2026).
Deputy Marshal Hanson was fatally shot while serving an arrest warrant to take a violent fugitive into custody.
He was 36 years old and served with the U.S. Marshals Service for six years. He previously served with the U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and two Mississippi police departments. He is survived by his wife and two children.
