On September 13, Honor 37 will host its inaugural Ride of Remembrance to mark the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Honor 37 was born in the ashes of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks by two Port Authority police officers and is named in honor of the 37 Port Authority police officers killed that fateful day. Since 2002, Honor 37 members have cycled from the World Trade Center to Washington, D.C., every May 9 in honor of our nation’s fallen law enforcement officers and in support of their families.
The first-ever Honor 37 Ride of Remembrance will begin in Fort Lee, New Jersey, with cyclists making their way into Manhattan over the George Washington Bridge. Riders will cycle through the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels and make a slow ride by the 9/11 Memorial as Honor 37 members place a memorial wreath at the south wall of the South Memorial Pool. Riders will then continue up the west side of Manhattan and return over the George Washington Bridge. A rest stop will be provided midway, followed by a barbecue hosted by the Port Authority PBA upon completion.
The ride will cover 37 miles and is open to the public, so please share this event with your family, friends and riding clubs.
The opportunity to ride through the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels while they are closed to traffic presents a special and unique experience and an unforgettable cycling memory.
All participants will receive a 9/11 25th Anniversary challenge coin. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Register at Honor37.com.
