On August 6, Port Authority Police Officers Samuel Guzman and Devon Moses were patrolling the World Trade Center PATH Station when they observed three individuals manipulating a PATH turnstile, allegedly to gain access without paying. The officers also recognized the individuals as people wanted in an active NYPD investigation involving online money transfer scams.
The officers took the three suspects into custody and notified the NYPD detectives who issued the BOLO.
Further investigation found that two of the suspects had outstanding warrants for robbery and grand larceny. While in custody, one suspect was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun with an extended magazine.
The arrest is a good example of proactive policing and interagency cooperation.
