The Baseball Hall of Fame recently shared a post about New York Mets rookie Carson Benge, a potential National League Rookie of the Year, and his donation of the PAPD cap he wore in honor of the 37 Port Authority Police Department officers who lost their lives on 9/11.
“The Port Authority Police Department lost 37 officers on 9/11 — the largest loss of life for any police force in a single event in American history. We’re grateful to New York Mets outfielder Carson Benge for donating the PAPD cap he wore in their honor last Friday.”
The Port Authority PBA thanks the Baseball Hall of Fame for recognizing the sacrifice of the PAPD 37 and Carson Benge for honoring the memory of these courageous and selfless officers.
