On August 19, Port Authority Police Officers Devin Moses, Samuel Guzman and Derick Cadena were patrolling the World Trade Center PATH Train Station when they observed a man gain entry to the PATH system without payment. The officers stopped the suspect and conducted a field investigation, which revealed that the suspect had three active arrest warrants out of Kings County (Brooklyn). Subsequent to his arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and a switchblade knife.
When police officers stop an individual for an observed offense, they often do not know if the person is armed. Those interactions can lead to tragic outcomes. The professional actions of Police Officers Moses, Guzman and Cadena are consistent with the high standards and expectations of the Port Authority Police Department and the Port Authority PBA.
