Cops Find 55 Suspected LSD Tabs In N.J. Man's Car Near Holland Tunnel

June 16, 2017 by PAPBA

According to the Port Authority of NY/NJ, the incident began around 10 p.m. when a patrol officer saw a 1999 Honda Civic traveling eastbound on the New Jersey Turnpike extension near the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City at a “very low rate of speed.”

After drivers around the Honda began honking their horns and flashing their high beams at the car, the officer approached in his car and found that the car’s inspection sticker was expired. At that point, the driver of the Honda swerved onto the shoulder of the road and crossed over the white traffic divider line, officers said.

The officer then pulled over the driver, later identified as Rosario Galluzzo, 38, of Kenilworth.

While speaking with Galluzzo, the officer allegedly noted that his eyes were “glassy and bloodshot.” Galluzzo then allegedly offered to leave the car and walk home, police said.

After Galluzzo failed a field sobriety test, the officer arrested him, later finding a cigarette pack containing 55 sticker tabs of suspected LSD on top of the car’s center console. During the search, the officer also found a glass pipe with “suspected drug residue” and other assorted suspected drug paraphernalia, authorities stated.

Police charged Galluzzo with offenses including Driving Under the Influence, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance and Reckless Driving.
