Port Authority PBA President Paul Nunziato was appointed to the Port Authority Police Department in September 1987. During his career he has worked at the majority of PAPD commands including long-term service in the Newark Airport, Central Police Pool and PATH Commands. Paul’s commitment to the PBA began with his election as a Central Police Pool Command delegate and later serving as a PATH Command delegate.
First Vice President Frank Conti has held elected Port Authority Police Benevolent Association positions since 2000, the year he was elected a delegate by the Port Authority Bus Terminal Command. Frank, who was appointed to the Port Authority Police Department on June 27, 1994, has also served the PAPBA as a Trustee and the Financial Secretary. He assumed his current position in November 2015.
“In today’s activist environment it is imperative our police officers know their rights. Our job as police union officials is to protect those rights.” Those are the words of Michael (Mike) DeFilippis, the Port Authority PBA’s second vice president. Protecting the membership is what Mike has been doing for 33 years of continuous service to the PBA, winning his first election as a delegate in 1985.
Police Officer Steve Ekizian has served the membership of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association as Treasurer since 2016. The experience that brought Steve to his current position includes his first PBA position in 2002 as a delegate in the JFK Airport Command. His dedication to the membership led him to also serve as a Trustee, the Sergeant-at-Arms and Recording Secretary. Steve is also a member of the Negotiating Committee.
