Port Authority bracing for record number of Thanksgiving travelers

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is expecting a record number of travelers to use the agency’s transit facilities this Thanksgiving holiday.

Approximately 6 million people are expected to use the Port Authority’s airports, bridges, tunnels and trains this Thanksgiving weekend, with the agency deploying a full complement of customer service representatives, toll collectors and police officers to ensure smooth service.
