STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Outerbridge Crossing was shut down for nearly an hour on Monday morning due to a five-vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital, according to authorities.
Two people were taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.
The crash on the New Jersey-bound Outerbridge was called around 8:56 a.m. Port Authority Police and EMS responded. The span was reopened about an hour later, according to a spokeswoman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
