Police boarded a United Airlines plane that landed at Newark Liberty International Airport on Saturday after a passenger made a bomb threat during the flight, the Transportation Security Administration said.
Authorities boarded the plane, United Flight 2329 from Chicago, after it landed in Newark at 9:40 p.m. No bomb was found, but a female passenger was taken into custody and later sent to a hospital for a medical evaluation, TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said.
“A female passenger on board the plane made a verbal bomb threat during the flight,” Farbstein said. “The plane landed at Newark, and law enforcement removed the woman from the plane. Officials swept the plane and found nothing dangerous on board.”
