Woman busted smuggling 10 lbs of marijuana from New York to Caribbean

A 33-year-old woman tried to check a bag with more than 10 pounds of pot at JFK Airport as she tried to make her way to the Caribbean, authorities said Wednesday.

The alleged smuggler, Shakira Millar, was arrested Tuesday trying to board a flight to Barbados with a black suitcase filled with 11 weed-filled vaccum-sealed bags inside, according to a criminal complaint.

A US Custom and Border Protection officer spotted the suspicious bag during a X-ray scan and a Port Authority K9 team confirmed the suitcase was filled with ganja, the complaint says.
