On Thursday, October 2, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York City, the Port Authority Police Department Honor Guard sent the New York Yankees onto victory in Game three of the Major League Baseball American League Wild Card Series, defeating the Boston Red Sox 4–0. On Wednesday, October 1, at LaGuardia Airport in Queens, New York City, Port Authority Police patrol, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF), and Emergency Service units responded to a taxiway collision between two regional jets. PAPD units evacuated both aircraft and secured the scene for investigation. No passengers reported injuries, though one flight attendant was transported to a hospital. The PAPD ARFF Unit is the nation’s largest and busiest aircraft rescue firefighting unit. Read More
