In Remembrance: U.S. Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom

Rest in peace, United States Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, a member of the West Virginia National Guard. Specialist Beckstrom was ambushed and shot while protecting the people of Washington, D.C., on November 26. She succumbed to her wounds the following day. Specialist Beckstrom was 20 years old and had served in the West Virginia National Guard since 2023. She was assigned to the 863rd Military Police Company, 11th Engineer Brigade. PAPD Police Officers De-escalate Dangerous Situation on PATH Station

On Thursday, November 27, Port Authority police were alerted to a man acting erratically on a PATH 14th Street Station platform in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood on Thanksgiving. The man was observed on Port Authority surveillance cameras possessing what appeared to be a butcher-type knife. PAPD patrol and ESU units were dispatched, while the PATH Control Center instructed trains to bypass the station. Read More

In Remembrance: Port Authority Police Sergeant Vincent Oliva

The Port Authority PBA always honors and remembers Port Authority Police Sergeant Vincent Oliva (EOW 11/27/2013). Sergeant Oliva succumbed to a 9/11 illness contracted during his heroic and selfless work in the toxic environment of the World Trade Center Rescue and Recovery Mission. He had served the people of New York, New Jersey and the millions using Port Authority facilities daily for more than 30 years. Sarge, continue your peaceful rest in the Lord’s eternal embrace. PAPD WTC Command Holds Donation Drive

Port Authority Police Officer Devon Moses initiated a donation drive at the PAPD World Trade Center Command to support the Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at the World Trade Center in providing food for those in need. Members of the PAPD WTC Command not only raised funds but also joined church parishioners on Tuesday, November 16, in preparing food bags for those who rely on the generosity and care of others. The Port Authority PBA thanks Officer Moses, his colleagues at the PAPD WTC Command, and Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church for their selfless community outreach. Read More

In Remembrance: California Police Officer Alec Sanders

Rest in peace, Alhambra, California, Police Officer Alec Sanders (EOW 11/20/2025). Police Officer Sanders was struck and killed by a vehicle that was fleeing from police. He was 28 years old and had served eight months with the Alhambra Police Department. He had previously served one year with the Long Beach, California, Police Department. He is survived by his fiancée, two sisters and a brother. Alec, rest in the Lord’s eternal embrace. Always Honored, Never Forgotten. Read More
