On Friday, September 12, in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen, a repeat offender with a violent criminal history went on a 24-hour crime spree in the Port Authority Bus Terminal, preying upon commuters and stealing their property. The suspect, already known to the PAPD Bus Terminal Command, was successfully apprehended by Port Authority Police Officers Checco, Guzman and Lorenzo.
Relying on victim descriptions and their prior knowledge of the suspect, the officers canvassed areas where he was most likely to strike again. They were able to take the suspect into custody without injuries to the suspect or officers.
This is a great example of the work Port Authority police officers perform every day protecting the people of New York, New Jersey and the millions using Port Authority facilities daily.
