Recently, the Port Authority PBA, along with other law enforcement unions, met with New York State Senator Monica Martinez and New York State Assemblymember Kwani B. O’Pharrow in support of their proposed legislation, the Edeedson “Joshy” Ciné Jr. Transparency Act, which, if enacted, “requires businesses possessing surveillance footage relevant to a felony investigation to release that footage to law enforcement upon receipt of a formal written request, without the need for a warrant or subpoena.”

First Responders Children’s Foundation 25th Anniversary Gala
On Saturday, May 16, the Port Authority Police Department Pipes and Drums and Honor Guard participated in the opening ceremony for the First Responders Children’s Foundation 25th Anniversary Gala at Gotham Hall. Edward Cetnar was in attendance celebrating the Foundation’s work supporting the children and families of the nation’s first responders. PAPD Emerald Society Recognizes Boy Scouts of America Troop 339
The PAPD Emerald Society thanked Jonathan Kovalsky and Cameron Eddings of Boy Scouts of America Troop 339 for carrying the Emerald Society banner during this year’s Rockville Centre, New York, Saint Patrick’s Day parade. They were presented with certificates of appreciation from PAPD Police Officer Erin McCarthy, Emerald Society First Vice President and Emerald Society Trustee Sergeant John Lynott.
