On October 17, Sergeant Duran was flagged down by a pedestrian. While speaking with the person, he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Sergeant Duran succumbed to his injuries on Friday, October 24.
He had served with the El Reno Police Department for 14 years and is survived by his wife and children.
