PAPD Officers Save Man on George Washington Bridge

October 17, 2025 by 911MEDIA

On Wednesday, October 15, Port Authority Police Officers Stanley O’Neil and Cesar Moreno were on patrol when they spotted a man climbing the fence on the George Washington Bridge’s north walkway, high above the Hudson River. Acting swiftly, the officers exited their vehicle, jumped a steel barrier and closed the distance. Realizing the man was in distress and contemplating suicide, O’Neil and Moreno engaged him in conversation and persuaded him to return to safety. The man was transported to a hospital for care — another life saved by the PAPD.
