“While we can never do enough for our nation’s heroes, we can always do more.” Those are the words of Gary Sinise, the Hollywood actor who played Lieutenant Dan in the 1994 Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump.

He visited the PAPD Bus Terminal Command with the Gary Sinise Foundation on Thursday, November 20. Sinise and foundation members provided and served lunch for Port Authority officers working the day and afternoon tours.

The Gary Sinise Foundation acknowledges the selfless and courageous work of first responders, stating, “America’s firefighters, police and EMTs are rushing into danger when everyone is running out. Our darkest traumas — fires, injury, crisis, death — are faced by our incredible first responders every day.”

Port Authority PBA President Frank Conti thanked Sinise for the foundation’s generosity and the extraordinary work they do.
