On Wednesday, November 5, a stolen vehicle occupied by three suspects — one of whom was wanted in an NYPD shooting investigation — was located by East Rutherford, New Jersey, police officers. As the vehicle fled, East Rutherford officers kept it in sight, broadcasting its location as it made its way to the George Washington Bridge (GWB).
Port Authority Police Officers Justin Bosompem and Joey Cassera were monitoring the radio traffic when they observed the vehicle in the vicinity of the GWB. Bosompem and Cassera, along with East Rutherford officers, followed the vehicle over the bridge. The vehicle continued into the Bronx, where it became stopped in traffic.
The three suspects bailed from the vehicle and fled in different directions, with the officers, now on foot, giving chase. Bosompem and Cassera apprehended one suspect, an 18-year-old male. The other suspects were not apprehended and remain part of the ongoing investigation.
Outstanding work by the PAPD and ERPD!
