Port Authority PBA Joins New York Police and Fire Unions at Tier 6 Rally

November 12, 2025 by 911MEDIA

On Tuesday, November 10, the Port Authority PBA joined the Yonkers PBA, the Police Conference of New York and many other New York police and fire unions at the Tier 6 Rally in Yonkers.

The rally called on the New York State Legislature to enact reforms to Tier 6 of the New York State Police and Fire Retirement System.

Tier 6 of the New York State Police and Fire Retirement System contains provisions that have an adverse effect on the pensions earned by police officers and firefighters. During the rally, Port Authority PBA President Frank Conti emphasized to the New York State Legislature that Tier 6 reform should be “a legislative priority.”

Police officers and firefighters earn their pensions by performing the dangerous and difficult work that most would not consider. Their dedication and commitment to the people they serve should never be dismissed.
