The Emerald Society and friends celebrated the anniversary on Friday, October 3, at Tailor Public House in New York City with an evening of great friends, food, beverages and music. The PBA wishes the Emerald Society many more anniversaries.

In Remembrance: PAPD Police Officer Arthur Ansert
The Port Authority PBA always honors and remembers Police Officer Arthur Ansert (EOW 10/8/1973). Police Officer Ansert was struck and killed by an intoxicated driver while conducting a motor vehicle stop on the Van Wyck Expressway. He was 25 years old and had served with the Port Authority Police Department from May 8, 1972, until his death on October 8, 1973. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was survived by his wife. Always Honored, Never Forgotten.
PAPD DESI Society Presents Inaugural Saturday Brunch
On Saturday, October 4, in Queens, New York City, the Port Authority Police Department DESI Society presented its inaugural Saturday Brunch at Luxe Noir in Ozone Park. Port Authority PBA President Frank Conti congratulates PAPD DESI Society President Noble Varghese and his executive board on an outstanding and successful event.
PAPD FC and JFK Customs FC Charity Soccer Game
Congratulations to PAPD FC and JFK Customs FC for organizing an outstanding charity soccer game. The PAPD FC outlasted JFK Customs FC, 3–2, while raising funds for Tunnel to Towers.
NAPO President Mick McHale Recognized With Distinguished Service Award
National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) President Mick McHale will receive the Police Conference of New York Floyd Holloway Sr. Distinguished Service Award at the general meeting on Monday, October 6, in recognition of his commitment to law enforcement and his advocacy for officers nationwide in Washington, D.C.
Port Authority PBA Cigar and Whiskey Night a Success
The Port Authority PBA Cigar and Whiskey Night was a huge success! The annual event, held on October 1 at the Terrace Rooftop in Paramus, New Jersey, benefits the Port Authority PBA Widows and Children’s Fund. PBA President Frank Conti thanks the event’s sponsors for their generous support and the more than 250 attendees who continue to honor and remember the families of the PAPD fallen.
