Adapted from a story published in the Winter 2024 issue of the PAPBA Report, it describes how 12 retired PAPD officers volunteered for the World Trade Center rescue and recovery effort despite procedural hurdles, selflessly risking exposure to the toxic environment in their effort to save lives and bring the fallen home. The Port Authority Police Hispanic Society did a great job creating a back-to-school giveaway at New York City PS/IS 173M in Washington Heights. Society members collected back-to-school supplies for the PS/IS 173M students and their families. The collection point for donated supplies was set up with the help of ATA Martial Arts School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Read More
