On Thursday, October 2, at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York City, the Port Authority Police Department Honor Guard sent the New York Yankees onto victory in Game three of the Major League Baseball American League Wild Card Series, defeating the Boston Red Sox 4–0. On Tuesday, September 30, in Staten Island, New York, the PAPD 38 Heroes Memorial Softball Tournament was held at Willowbrook Fields, where the JFK Command team edged the PATH Command 6–5 in the final. Read More
On Wednesday, October 1, at LaGuardia Airport in Queens, New York City, Port Authority Police patrol, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF), and Emergency Service units responded to a taxiway collision between two regional jets. PAPD units evacuated both aircraft and secured the scene for investigation. No passengers reported injuries, though one flight attendant was transported to a hospital.
