Jersey City Man Busted With Heroin For Second Time This Month: Police

April 22, 2017 by PAPBA

A 50-year-old man was caught with more than 30 bags of heroin near the Journal Square Plaza for the second time this month, authorities said.

At around 6 p.m. on Friday, April 21, Port Authority police patrolling the area of Journal Square Plaza at Bergen Avenue noticed Calvin Clark — a Jersey City resident — with a purple packet in his hand that officers suspected was heroin, according to Port Authority police spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

Upon searching him, police found 30 more bags of heroin from his left shirt pocket, Pentangelo said.

Clark was brought to Hudson County Jail, and was charged with possession of heroin, as well as intent to distribute.

There was no disruption to transportation or terminal operations as a result of the arrest, Pentangelo said.

This is the second time Clark has been charged with intent to distribute heroin this month. Port Authority police arrested Clark on April 11 after finding 43 yellow wax folds of heroin on him.

Clark was in possession of $430 worth of heroin at the time.

Clark has eight felony convictions for narcotics, according to court records.
