Port Authority Police Arrest Man Twice In Five Days

April 17, 2017 by PAPBA

Port Authority police arrested a man twice in five days, authorities said.

Keith Germany, 29, of East Orange, was arrested April 12 and charged with stealing a rental car from the Enterprise/National car rental lot at Newark Liberty International Airport, said Joe Pentangelo, a spokesperson for the Port Authority Police Department.

Germany was arrested again Sunday at about 2 p.m. in the same lot. Port Authority police were informed by witnesses that someone who was involved with a vehicle theft several days earlier had returned and was on their property in a rental car without permission, Pentangelo said.

Police found Germany seated in a 2017 Ford Expedition rental car. He had no permission or authority to be in the car or on the rental property. He was placed under arrest and in a search, police found a small amount of substance suspected to be marijuana.

Germany faces charges of unlawful taking of a means of conveyance and theft of movable property-auto for the first incident and defiant trespass and possession of marijuana for the second.
