PATH train evacuated as Port Authority police check unattended suitcase

July 2, 2017 by PAPBA

A PATH train was evacuated Sunday afternoon at the World Trade Center, and Port Authority police said they were checking an unattended package, WNBC reported initially.

Service to and from the World Trade Center was suspended due to “police activity,” the Port Authority said on Twitter.

A K-9 team had a positive hit on a car in the PATH station, WNBC reported. The train had arrived from Newark.

Passengers had been asked by the Port Authority to avoid the World Trade Center station, with customers advised to transfer at Grove Street for service into New York City.
