PAPD Officer Controls Aggressive Dog and Protects Commuters at WTC Transportation Hub

Great job by Port Authority Police Officer Amanda Walker! Recently, Officer Walker was on patrol at the World Trade Center Oculus Transportation Hub when she was approached by a woman concerned about a man lying face down and not moving. Upon locating the individual, Officer Walker observed he was accompanied by a sleeping pit bull. She determined the man was unconscious and requested EMS, maintaining a safe distance given the potential for the dog to become aggressive. A short time later, the dog awoke and, without provocation, charged toward Officer Walker. Read More

In Remembrance: Oklahoma Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas LeMay

Rest in peace, LaFlore County, Oklahoma, Sheriff’s Deputy Thomas LeMay (EOW 4/19/2026). Deputy LeMay and a Wister, Oklahoma, police officer were dispatched to conduct a welfare check on an individual at a residence near Wister. Upon arrival, they were met with a barrage of gunfire, initiating a four-hour gunfight. Deputy LeMay was fatally shot. The Wister officer was shot and wounded and is hospitalized in stable condition. In Remembrance: Retired PAPD Police Officer William J. Haubert

The Port Authority PBA is saddened by the passing of retired Port Authority Police Officer William “Billy” J. Haubert on April 14. Billy served with the Port Authority Police Department from 1973 to 1993, protecting the people of New York and New Jersey, as well as the millions who use Port Authority facilities daily. He also served members of the Port Authority PBA as a longtime delegate at the PAPD Bus Terminal Command. Billy was a U.S. Army veteran who was wounded in combat during the Vietnam War and served with the 1st Cavalry Division. He was also a graduate of Adelphi University. Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, Billy joined other retired Port Authority officers in the World Trade Center Rescue and Recovery effort, where they were known as Team Romeo. In Remembrance: Puerto Rico Police Agent Eddie Santiago-Renta

Rest in peace, Puerto Rico Police Department Agent Eddie Santiago-Renta (EOW 4/10/2026). Agent Santiago-Renta was fatally shot during an undercover narcotics operation. He was 49 years old, had served with the Puerto Rico Police Department for 22 years and is survived by his wife and four children. Eddie, rest in the Lord’s eternal embrace. In Remembrance: Tennessee Sheriff’s Deputy Landon Faulkner

Rest in peace, Hamilton County, Tennessee, Sheriff’s Deputy Landon Faulkner (EOW 4/10/2026). Deputy Faulkner succumbed to injuries sustained on the evening of April 8, when his patrol vehicle crashed into a disabled truck in a left lane of Highway 111. He was 24 years old and had served with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office since 2022. He previously served as a deputy with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office. The Port Authority PBA always honors and remembers Port Authority Police Detective Thomas M. Inman (EOW 4/12/2020). Detective Inman succumbed to a 9/11 illness contracted during his heroic and selfless work in the toxic environment of the World Trade Center Rescue and Recovery. He had served with the Port Authority Police Department for 30 years and was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran. Tommy, continue your rest in the Lord’s eternal embrace. Always Honored, Never Forgotten.
