Port Authority PBA Recognizes Police Officer’s Brave Actions Off Duty

October 4, 2025 by 911MEDIA

Recently, an off-duty Port Authority police officer, who happens to be pregnant with her first child, heard terrible screams for help. She immediately went to the call for help and found a teenage male bleeding profusely with multiple stab wounds on the sidewalk in front of a residence. As the officer rendered critical aid to the victim, a woman appeared at the front door yelling that her mother was stabbed and unconscious. She also stated that the perpetrator was still in the house and igniting a fire.

While still tending to the teenager, the officer made notifications and was able to remove the teenager to safety and continued care of an EMS crew. It was reported that the assaults were a family domestic violence incident. Unfortunately, the woman who was stabbed succumbed to her injuries.

Port Authority PBA President Frank Conti stated, “Our off-duty officer responded to someone’s urgent need for help. She did so without hesitation, not being certain of what she was walking into, as police officers typically do. Unbeknownst to her, she was happening upon a tragic scene in which an armed perpetrator was still present. I am extremely proud of her actions, and I am also grateful that she was not injured, or worse, in the process. She should be recognized for her bravery and her selflessness.”
