The 17th annual Irish Echo Law and Order Awards were presented to law enforcement officers from various agencies by the Irish Echo newspaper on Friday evening, January 23, at the Franklin Grand Central Hotel.

“This annual event celebrates the brave men and women in law enforcement who work hard to keep us safe and to keep society running smoothly,” the Irish Echo stated.

Awardees Port Authority Police Officers Brian Ahern and Tore McCarthy were joined by Port Authority PBA President Frank Conti, PAPD Superintendent Ed Cetnar, PAPD Chief of Staff Chris McNerney, family members and PBA Executive Board members. Keynote speaker New York Congressman Mike Lawlor congratulated the honorees.

The Port Authority PBA congratulates Police Officers Ahern, McCarthy and all the awardees for their dedication to protecting the public and their selfless commitment to law enforcement.
