In Remembrance: Missouri Deputy Sheriffs Gabriel Ramirez and Michael Hislope

February 26, 2026 by 911MEDIA

Rest in peace, Christian County, Missouri, Deputy Sheriffs Gabriel Ramirez and Michael Hislope (EOW 2/24/2026).

Deputy Ramirez was fatally shot while conducting a motor vehicle stop, after which the suspect fled the scene. Local, county and federal law enforcement agencies launched an intense, hours-long manhunt. When the suspect was located, a 30-minute gun battle ensued, during which Deputy Hislope was shot and killed. Another deputy from Christian County and a deputy from Webster County were also shot and wounded; both are hospitalized and in stable condition.

Deputy Ramirez, 30, had served with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office for 11 months. Deputy Hislope, 40, had been with the department for six years. Both deputies were combat veterans of the United States Army.

Gabriel and Michael, rest in the Lord’s eternal embrace. Always Honored, Never Forgotten.
