PAPD Officer Chee Ying Yong Receives the PAPBA’s 2025 Cop of the Year Award

February 10, 2026 by 911MEDIA

Congratulations to Port Authority Police Officer Chee Ying Yong, recipient of the Port Authority PBA’s 2025 Cop of the Year Award.

Police Officer Yong was introduced by PBA President Frank Conti as the recipient at the annual Port Authority PBA Cop of the Year dinner on Friday, February 6. The PBA recognized Yong for her heroic actions on October 2, 2025. On that day, Yong saved the life of a 17-year-old stabbing victim and helped apprehend a homicide and arson suspect in what appeared to be a tragic domestic violence incident.

What made the incident even more extraordinary was that Yong courageously upheld her oath while off duty and four months pregnant with her first child — a selfless commitment to public safety.
