Honoring the Fallen During National Police Week

May 11, 2026 by 911MEDIA

National Police Week, held May 10–16, is a time to remember and honor the more than 24,000 law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

It is the police officer, peace officer, sheriff, deputy sheriff, correction officer, marshal and agent who stand on the line confronting crime, disorder, anarchy, unimaginable tragedy, savage violence and never-ending sadness. It is a job not meant for most, but for those who swore the sacred oath, we all owe a debt of gratitude.

The Port Authority PBA is proud to represent Port Authority police officers — the finest of the finest.

The Port Authority PBA always honors and remembers the 67 Port Authority police officers who have died in the line of duty. They swore an oath to always act, and that is exactly what they did. Their sacrifices had one purpose: so others may live.

They honored their sacred oath with the ultimate sacrifice. There is no greater love. May they continue their peaceful rest in the Lord’s eternal embrace. Always Honored, Never Forgotten.
