On Saturday, June 6, Port Authority police received information from the New York City Police Department’s 7th Precinct that they were seeking an individual wanted in connection with a strong-arm robbery that had occurred earlier that afternoon in Hell’s Kitchen. The individual was believed to be attempting to board a bus to Georgia.
A description was broadcast to PAPD patrol units, which immediately began canvassing the area. Sometime later, Police Officers Cregin and Gargiulo, while canvassing the Greyhound terminal area, located an individual matching the description. The officers detained the suspect just before he was able to board a bus bound for Atlanta.
After positive identification was made, the suspect was turned over to the NYPD without incident. A great example of interagency cooperation.
