July 24, 2025 | In the News, News

Avon-By-The-Sea lifeguard and Port Authority Police Officer Sean Dunne last month took on an incredibly challenging feat of swimming the English Channel solo in memory and support of his late colleague. “I always tried to pick hard, physical events. I did Ironman (Triathlon) a few years ago, so I tried to pick the next hardest thing, and I found it with this,” said Dunne. “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.” Read More

Port Authority police officer who survived 9/11 WTC collapse pins shield on grandson

June 19, 2025 | In the News, News

After the World Trade Center’s South Tower came crashing down around his ears on 9/11, trapping him under the rubble for several hours, retired Port Authority Police Department Sgt. Conrad Krueger never returned to Ground Zero or the 9/11 Memorial & Museum — until Wednesday.

There, by the 9/11 Memorial reflecting pools, where the names of the 37 Port Authority police officers who died at the site are etched in marble for eternity, he pinned his shield on his grandson Sean, who is poised to graduate the PAPD’s academy Friday. Read More

June 3, 2025 | In the News, News

A 2-year-old boy was swept away out of his mom’s sight after climbing onto a luggage conveyor belt at Newark Libery International Airport — the latest scary trip at the troubled travel hub.

The Staten Island toddler wandered onto the ankle-high conveyor belt where passengers drop off their luggage before takeoff, while his mother was busy rebooking a flight with a JetBlue employee in Terminal A on May 28, according to sources and the Port Authority PBA. Read More

Port Authority police rescue toddler from luggage system: exclusive

June 2, 2025 | In the News, News

Conveyor belts for luggage are not places to play. That rule is not necessarily known by 2-year-old boys, who, for that matter, are too young to read the warning signs posted against riding on baggage conveyor systems. That may be why a toddler entered the checked baggage conveyor belt system in Terminal A at Newark Liberty Airport. Quick action by Port Authority Police Department cops prevented what could have been a dangerous situation for a small child. Read More
