In Remembrance: Hays Police Sergeant Scott Heimann

Rest in peace, Hays, Kansas, Police Sergeant Scott Heimann (EOW 9/28/2025). Sergeant Heimann, 32, was shot and killed while responding to a barricaded suspect in a domestic violence incident. He had served with the Hays Police Department for nine years and is survived by his wife and two children. Sarge, rest in the Lord’s eternal embrace. Always Honored, Never Forgotten.

$18K: NJ Man Tried to Evade Tolls Using Socks: PAPD

A New Jersey man was arrested and charged after he tried to use a pair of socks to keep him from paying tolls, authorities said. On Friday, Sept. 26, officers observed a vehicle with a suspiciously obscured license plate at the Holland Tunnel and conducted a traffic stop, Port Authority police said.

Law Enforcement Officers Weekend Supports Family of Fallen PAPD Officer Anthony Varvaro

On Friday, September 26, in the Bronx, New York City, Law Enforcement Officers Weekend hosted the family of fallen Port Authority Police Officer Anthony Varvaro (EOW 9/11/2022) at Yankee Stadium. The Varvaro family enjoyed watching the New York Yankees defeat the Baltimore Orioles, a game in which Aaron Judge homered and Giancarlo Stanton went deep twice.

Tunnel to Towers Hosts Family of Fallen Carroll County, Indiana, Deputy Sheriff Noah Rainey in NYC

On Saturday, September 27, at the World Trade Center, Tunnel to Towers hosted the family of fallen Carroll County, Indiana, Deputy Sheriff Noah Rainey (EOW 1/29/2022) during their visit to New York City. The PAPD WTC Command welcomed the Rainey family with a tour of the WTC Campus, where they met PAPD K-9 Cirri, named in honor of PAPD Lieutenant Robert Cirri (EOW 9/11/2001), and his partner, Port Authority Police Officer Eric Brozek.

PAPD Officers Apprehend Violent Suspect

On Tuesday, September 23, in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen, a 25-year-old female Greyhound employee was savagely attacked by a knife-wielding, 36-year-old woman in the Greyhound area of the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
